| Marist international Novitiate 2014 begins in the Philippines |  |

The first International Novitiate to be held in the new venue of Eden, Davao, Philippines, has begun on 1st Feb. 2014. Three young men from the African Marist District are in the group: Loenard Safeh, Stev Youm, and Guy-Roger Assogoma. The ten [10] new novices were admitted to the canonical novitiate year by knocking on the door of the chapel and then being admitted by Fr. Fernando Ingente, on behalf of the novice master, who asked what they wanted and invited them in by giving each a lit candle to be placed on the altar. This was followed by the blessing of the soutane and the recital of a Marist litany. |
Trois juenes Maristes d'Afrique ont commencés le noviciat aux Philippines avec les autres novices maristes le 1 Février 2014. Les dix novices sont de six nationalaités: Mika Misinale, Soane Hehea et Viliami Kiola (Tonga), Samu Tukidia et Pio Ravu (Fiji), Leonard Safeh et Guy-Roger Assogoma (Cameroon), Stev Youm (Senegal), Nikolai Reimers (Norway) et Benedict d'Souza (NZ).

January 25th, 2014 witnessed the first profession of three (3) African Marists: Mbena Narciss sm, Christopher Knight Akongnwi sm and Njong Akua Kenneth sm in Davao, Philippines. The three young Marists had just finished their novitiate with two other mates from Oceania Marist Province: Iosefo Vili sm, and Maselino Michael Kolio sm (Samoa) Fr Didier Hadonou sm, District Superior of African Marist received the vows the newly professed. |
