Fête de ST Pierre Chanel

Les Laïcats Maristes de la paroisse de Bambili ont fêtés Saint Pierre Chanel avec la Communauté Maristes de Bambili

As it is already a tradition since we joined the Marist family, we whole heartedly manifest our happiness over events that mark the life of this loving family. For the sixth time, we jointly celebrated the feast of St Peter CHANEL with the Fathers spiritually and socially.

The spiritual preparation began with a well planned novena prayer in collaboration with our Chaplain Fr Roger KASIAMA. The prayer was said daily from the 19th to 27th of April. On the last day we ended the prayer at the Fathers’ residence.

The celebration of the day itself was very solemn and colorful. A thanksgiving mass was offered and we participated in the Liturgy of the day in a special way (readings, prayer of the faithful, Bread and Wine procession), and at the end of the mass a brief biography of St Peter CHANEL was presented to the congregation.

As Africans, we later on joined in the Parish house for a heavy entertainment conjointly prepared with Fathers.

We equally rejoiced over the religious wedding of our sister Jeannette Motue programmed for the 4th of May 2013. We exercised ourselves in dancing up to 9:00 pm when we departed from the Fathers’ residence.

A Marist feast is always an occasion for us to reflect deeply on role we have to play as Marists in our society of today through the Marist spirit.

What are the challenges of our time and do we overcome them? We rely on the prayers of St Peter CHANEL who faithful planted the seed of faith through his own life
