Cameroon Marist Assembly

The Marists confrères of the sector of Cameroon had their assembly on 26th January 2012 at Maison St Pierre Chanel Nkolbisson - Yaoundé.

It was a good moment of reflection on the future of the District and the Society as a whole.

The main point of discuss was centre on vocation. Fr Paul Souga SM did a brief presentation on the cultural challenges with regards to vocation promotion.

Confrères chared various concrete oppinions on how to work in order to assure an aunthentic intake of Marist interested candidates.

Assemblée Maristes du Cameroun

L'assemblée des Pères Mariestes du secteur du Cameroun a eu lieu à la maison St Pierre Chanel Nkolbission - Yaoundé le 26 janvier 2012.

C'était un moment fort de réflexion et de partage sur le futur du District et la Société en générale.

Le sujet important du jour était sur l'animation vocationelle.

Le Père Paul SOUGA SM a fait une réflexion sur les défis des cultures locale face à l'animation vocationelle.

Africa District Chapter 2012

After the Plenary Council meeting of the District held at Nkolbisson - Yaoundé from 15th to 18th June 2011, it was decided upon that the District Chapter will take place in June 2012.

In preparation for this, a commitee was set up to prepare for the District Chapter scheduled for June 2012. The commitee is made up of Frs Emile Kouma SM, Jean-Pierre Bakhoum SM, and Constant Ephrem Amoussouga SM.

There will be a District assembly on June 19th to 21st followed by the District Chapter from 22nd to 23rd June 2012.

In preparation for these two events, a retreat for all the finally professed Marists in Africa is scheduled for the 13th to 18th June 2012.

 

 

 Au cours du Conseil Plénier du District tenu à Nkolbisson - Yaoundé du 15 au 18 June 2011, le Supérieur du District avait clairement exprimé son intention de convoquer le Chapitre ordinaire du District d'Afrique en Juin 2012 précédé d'une Assemblée du District.

L'Assemblée se tiendra du 19 au 21 Juin 2012, tandis que le Chapitre aura lieu du 22 au 23 Juin 2012.

Ces deux événements majeurs dans la vie de notre Famille Religieuse bénéficieront d'une retraite spirituelle, pour les profès perpétuels du 13 au 18 Juin 2012.

Le Supérieur du District a donc constitué, avec son Conseil, une commission précapitulaire composée des Pères Emile KOUMA SM, Jean-Pierre BAKHOUM SM et Constant Ephrem AMOUSSOUGA SM.

Obituary

Aftre the joyful Christmas celebration, the year started in obili Parish in a sad note with the passing away of two members of the college of elders in the Parish.

Pa Lawrence Kome (commonly known as Intelligencia) was buried on January 9th 2012 at the Mvolye cemintary. Pa Kome (intelligencia) is one of the founding members of the Anglophone community in Obili Parish. He will be remembered for his strong dedication to the life of the parish which he served as the pioneer president of the Anglophone community.

He was retired automechanics engineer. He taught most of the young Marists Fathers of the African district motor mechanics. We owe Pa Kome alot for his generosity to the District. Let us pray for the happy repose of his soul.

Cheif Eyebe Guilluame was busried on January ... 2012. He is a native of Obili and one of the elders of the parish community.

May they rest in perfect peace!
